Hansley drew his first doodle on his kindergarten report card. Aspiring to become a comic book artist, he later improved his drawing skills throughout elementary and middle school. In high school, however, Hansley lost sight of his passion for design and fell in love with information technology. Regrettably, he soon began coding several times a day and dwelt in the online world of multiplayer games. The sustained habitual behavior ultimately transformed the once creative artist into a full-blown geek.
Upon receiving two bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science, Hansley moved to San Francisco and found himself caught up in a design cult. Under the influence of the cult, his love for design was rejuvenated. He found that the skills he had obtained as a geek set him apart from the other creatives. His boundless imagination combined with his analytical approach to problems made him different—a trait that is necessary to survive in the advertising world. His only wish is to come out the same man as he was before—only wiser.
